Abstract
Initially ‘Schema’ word is used in Psychology. The meaning of Schema in Psychology is –‘Active organization of previous reactions or experiences’. It is considered that written content doesn’t gain meaning in itself but the reader uses his/her previous knowledge to draw the meaning from the written content. In this way a reader uses schema theory to form the meaning from the content. So, we cannot ignore the role of schema theory in reading process.
