Abstract
In the wake of liberalization, privatization and globalization women’s status has not flourished despite numerous international and domestic women empowerment opportunities and safeguards. This research focuses on equal employment opportunities for women and how different elements affects her status. Government around the globe encourage gender diversity because markets have shrunk to one big global economy and the organizations are forced to match the ever increasing demand of global customers including the fairer sex. This research paper purposes to shed light on equal employment opportunities of Indian women in local and international companies and aims to understand whether modern companies apply gender equality as a human right affirmation and constitutional vision enshrined in International Declarations and Indian Constitution in the era of globalization. The research tries to find out whether businesses at all levels ensure gender parity, and to explore the gender based pay-gap. The researcher relies on research based on exploratory, interview and sampling method. The research further tries to study why women have not been able to get benefit of equal opportunities in employment in the fast paced globalization era, though today women are earning, educated to a larger extent and economically self-independent. The findings of the study is based on mixed study of qualitative literature and comparison with the quantitative collection of data. The research tries to suggest various tools and techniques in the modern era to attain equality in employment opportunities for women empowerment. Women-roles have transformed from being a home-maker to the bread-winner with their male counterparts making a mark in the society. The need of the hour is total equality between the gender in the socio-economic-political space in order to command equality enshrined in Constitution and International Charters.
