Abstract
This paper explores the integration of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Global Citizenship Education (GCE) as essential approaches to address the complex global challenges of the 21st century. By analyzing the role of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in education, the paper highlights how SDG 4, which focuses on ensuring inclusive, equitable, and quality education, serves as a guiding framework for educational systems worldwide. The study also examines how sustainability practices within educational institutions—such as eco-friendly infrastructure, green campus initiatives, and sustainability-focused curricula—play a crucial role in promoting sustainable living and environmental responsibility. Furthermore, the paper explores the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration between educational institutions, non- governmental organizations (NGOs), and governments to create a supportive ecosystem for sustainable education. These collaborations help to facilitate resource-sharing, knowledge exchange, and policy implementation to advance sustainability goals.
